Teamwork is a joint action by two or more people or a group, in which each person contributes with different skills and subordinates his or her individual interests and opinions to the unity and efficiency of the group in order to achieve common goals.

This does not mean that the individual is no longer important; however, it does mean that effective and efficient teamwork goes beyond individual accomplishments. The most effective teamwork is produced when all the individuals involved harmonize their contributions and work towards a common goal.

As children, we are taught to work together. Whatever the task is, there are different levels of teamwork out there in the world. Sport teams, businesses, they all require the different skills each person has to achieve their goal, this becomes automatic as we live our lives. No matter how old we are however, sometimes when we decide to work individually, we might need that helping hand to give us a boost.

Quickie # 12 - Intervention

Northwood has a lot of shopping carts plaguing the area. Almost everywhere you go you can spot a shopping cart from Krogers. I walk down the stairs only to bump into one of these annoying carts, but then I look around and think about it, I think about how most of these students lack a car to shop for food, because a good majority of the student body in Northwood are international or transfer students, so they have to deal with walking down the street and haul their bags back up here because they lack a car, so they resort to using the shopping carts Krogers has. It seems to be a problem for the store itself because of having to go through the trouble of getting new carts and maintain what they have leftover for the customers that need the carts inside the store. I've always thought that there should a bus that leaves the area every few hours that lets the residents shop and safely get home with their groceries during harsh weather or late at night. It would also double as a bus for residents that were interested in purchasing their groceries.

I'm driving the bus, hauling carts! Nobody at 4 wants to shop it seems. :(

My original idea was to create a space in nature. The idea was to possibly take an existing thing in nature and copy the idea of it's process by putting my own spin on it, but also exaggerated in size.

Parts of my inspiration was thinking how animals adapt to their surroundings and make their home off what is availiable. Another detail I liked is how some animals wander and just pick a place without much thought. After a day of thinking about it, I wanted to make a shelter myself in the woods. Think of it like a clubhouse, making a place in the wild my own, cultivating the wild. I think of Lions on the Discovery Channel as a prime example. They make their home where ever it seems, not because of a purpose, but because of comfort and maybe easy access to food. Not because of safety from the weather or predators. Although herbivores might consider their home close to a source of water or a tree of ripe fruit, Lions might suddenly consider their home near this fruit tree as well.

Quickie #2 - Identity

Quickie #1 - Ideal/Non-Ideal Body Part

I figured out what to do for my first quickie based off what my neighbor seemed interested in, fantasy. Building off that idea, I then used the idea of how society strives to be perfect and appealing, so I decided to use the ideal man's dream of tremendous strength, looking tough, and being fierce. After several series of sketches and lists, I decided to target the arms as being the usual source of power and went for a robotic/fantasy theme.

After deciding that my quickie was going to be a robotic arm, I searched through my apartment and found some cardboard from the center of my new blanket and decided to spray paint it with some leftover paint.

It's meant for Plastic surfaces, but it stuck on just fine. :)

After cutting them in sections for different parts of the arm, I started to shape them to make them look a little more appealing and accent what he wanted.

I wrapped a garbage bag around his arm to have something for the tape to stick to and to add something other than just cardboard.

I started to shape the pieces as I applied them onto his arm.

All the pieces are in place and cropped. At this point, I'm making sure that his arm has mobility.
